Contact: the contact form
Futures Land SIA is the data controller for personal data collected through futures.land, within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
What is collected, and why
If you only read
Nothing that identifies you. The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not fingerprint visitors. It records aggregate page views, referrers, countries and device types. There is no advertising, no tracking across sites and no profile of you. This is why there is no cookie banner.
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address automatically in order to deliver the page and to protect the site from attack. The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a bot, is sending it. This is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you send a message through the contact form
We collect what you enter: your name, email address, organisation, role (if you give it), the topic you choose and your message. We use it to reply to you and, where you ask for it, to prepare a proposal or engagement.
Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, for general questions, our legitimate interest in answering the people who write to us (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
If you become a client
When an engagement goes ahead, we process the contact details of the people we work with and the business information shared with us for the engagement. This is governed by the engagement agreement and its confidentiality terms. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legal obligation to keep accounting records (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR).
If you order a report
Reports are supplied by invoice. We collect the details needed to issue the invoice and deliver the report: name, organisation, billing address, VAT number where relevant and email address. Legal basis: performance of a contract and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of service providers, each acting as a processor on our instructions:
| Provider | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, security, cookieless analytics, spam checks, database | EU/global, Standard Contractual Clauses in place |
| Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) | Delivers contact-form messages to our inbox | USA, Standard Contractual Clauses in place |
| Google Ireland Ltd. (Google Workspace) | Our email and documents | EU/global, Standard Contractual Clauses in place |
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data.
How long we keep it
- Contact-form messages: up to two years after our last exchange, unless they lead to an engagement.
- Client and invoicing records: five years from the end of the relevant financial year, as required by Latvian accounting law, or longer where an engagement agreement requires it.
- Analytics: aggregate only, and never linked to you.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you
- correct it if it is wrong
- delete it
- restrict how we use it
- give you a copy in a portable format
- stop processing it where we rely on legitimate interest
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent, without affecting processing already carried out
Write to us through the contact form and we will respond within one month.
If you believe we have handled your data improperly, you may complain to the Latvian supervisory authority:
